GRUNDREGELN | BASIC RULES Die Grundregeln zur Führung und Sicherung der Schnitzwerkzeuge für Hobby- und Berufsschnitzer: In der Regel wird bei Rechtshändern mit der rechten Hand und bei Linkshändern mit der linken Hand das Schnitzeisen so geführt, dass die leitende Hand die Richtung der Schnittführung angibt. Somit werden der Schnittwinkel, die Schnittrichtung und der Arbeitsdruck zur Spanabnahme bestimmt. Während der Schnitt erfolgt, sichert und schützt die andere Hand das Eisen. Sie hilft mit, den Schnittansatz bzw. den Schnittbeginn sicher zu finden und auszuführen. Außerdem wird durch diese Hand der Schnitt rechtzeitig und in der gewollten Tiefe abgesetzt. Natürlich dienen die Abbildungen nur als Hilfestellung und müssen nicht genauestens nachgeahmt werden. Die Grundhaltung bzw. -führung weicht allerdings von der zeichnerischen Vorlage nicht erheblich ab.
