INFORMATION / TABLES ENERGY EFFICIENCY – DETERMINING LEAKS IN COMPRESSED AIR SYSTEMS Existing compressed air systems frequently show enormous optimisation potential. This can lead to significant cost savings and at the same time contribute to the protection of resources and the climate. In Germany alone 62,000 installed compressed air systems annually consume 14 billion kWh of electrical energy. At least 15% to 20% of this could be easily saved. (Source: Fraunhofer Institut, Karlsruhe). COST DISTRIBUTION OF A COMPRESSED AIR SYSTEM 21% Energiekosten 3% Investitionen Wartungskosten 76% A large part of these costs occur from leaks in the compressed air system. The air “escapes” unused. The energy costs to compensate for the resulting compressed air losses are considerable.
