DID YOU KNOW... ... that "plastics" are divided into 3 areas? 1. Thermoplaste Thermoplastic products can become soft and moldable by heating and retain the shape of the following mass plastics at approximately 90% of the world's production after cooling: PE = PP = PVC = PS = PU = Polyethylen Polypropylen Polyvinylchlorid Polystyrol Polyurethan Priority we use the plastics of polyethylene (HD) and polypropylene as they have outstanding properties for sanitary applications: Polyethylen (HD) has high toughness and stiffness even at low temperatures, has good chemical resistance, good sliding properties and is very good to process. This material is very good, can be welded and physiologically harmless. Compared to polyethylene, polypropylene has a higher hardness and stiffness, is resistant to many chemicals and can be used with hot water (up to approx. 90°). At PVC a distinction is drawn between in two groups: - Hart-PVC (PVC-U) - „U“ = unplasticized - is plasticizer-free and has high mechanical strength, high stiffness and hardness with low water absorption. In addition to the very good resistance to chemicals, this material is distinguished by weather and light resistance, is easily weldable and self-extinguishing (according to DIN 4102-B1). -Soft-PCV (PVC-P) - „P“ = plasticized - is soft, formable and suitable for technical applications due to the addition of softeners and stabilizers. This material is characterized by good elasticity, chemical resistance and low water absorption. 2. Curable plastics Heating of thermosets leads to their decomposition; These can not be deformed. Duroplasts are usually hard and brittle. Important Curable plastics: Polyester = PES Epoxydharze Formaldehydharze 3. Thermoplastic Elastomer Thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) are processed into products as plastics. In your properties, they are classified between rubber and plastic. They become plastic when heated and exhibit elastic behavior when cooled. In addition to the relatively simple processability, the possibility of combining two materials (hard-soft composite) is to be emphasized, e.g. by welding or by injection molding. Illustrations, dimensions and descriptions are not binding. We reserve the right to make technical changes!
