Sockets are distinguished according to their w ay of operation, i.e. hand operation or machine operation. Through adding M olybdenum impact sockets reach a higher yield strength and solidity than standard sockets made of Chrome Vanadium steel. Also M olybdenum increases the corrosion resistance of the tools. For surface treatment M ATADOR uses a special manganese phosphate solution. Together w ith Chrome-M olybdenum it causes a chemical reaction during w hich it covers the surface of the metal. During this process a protective coating is created. According to DIN 3129 impact sockets must have a hole for the safety pin and a groove for the safety ring. It reduces w ear of the tools and thus increases their durability. The phosphate coating protects the metal against abrasion and heat and as a result reduces the w ear of the tools.
