DID YOU KNOW... ... the difference between rubber and rubber? Rubber is the unvulcanized form of rubber, i. If rubber is deformed, it remains deformed, while rubber almost completely reverts to its original shape, so it is elastic. Rubber is therefore also referred to as an elastomer. The vulcanization or crosslinking of the rubber to the rubber is effected by the admixture of so-called accelerators, such as sulfur, peroxides, etc., under the action of heat and pressure.
