PFERD offers a wide range of coated abrasive tools for processing different workpiece geometries and materials. They consist of a carrier material, a base bond and a cover bond to fix the abrasive grains. Depending on the grain size, coated abrasive tools can achieve a high material removal or a very fine surface finish. The carrier materials available differ in their properties such as tear resistance, flexibility and wear. By choosing the appropriate backing, the grinding tool is adapted to the requirements of the intended application: paper is used in the woodworking industry and in trades, e.g. by carpenters, painters and varnishers, fabric is mainly used in metalworking, and vulcanized fiber is very wear-resistant and is used in different thicknesses primarily for the manufacture of fiber sanders. The flexible system of Velcro discs and Velcro disc holders also allows them to be used on contours. With the Velcro disc holder, Velcro discs can be used on commercially available speed-adjustable or slow-running angle grinders with an M14 mount.
