They are fitted with a retractable wire rope or belt webbing. The devices use a recuperating spring, thus keeping the rope/webbing under tension all the time. In case of a fall or in the event of exceeding the work speed (approx. 1.5m/sec.) the retaining ratchets catch through centrifugal forces.
