Air-cooled chiller KWE 1480 Eco for outdoor installation in high-efficiency design and modular construction

Unit frame
Free-standing base frame made of galvanised sheet steel and heat-treated polyester paint for outdoor installation, standard colour similar to RAL 9018. Removable housing panels allow full access to unit components for increased ease of maintenance.
Heat exchanger, internal
Brazed plate heat exchanger in high-efficiency design made of stainless steel (AISI 316), fully thermally insulated. Maximum permissible operating pressure 8 bar on the medium side. Flow monitor and refrigeration circuit monitoring to protect the plate heat exchanger.
Heat exchanger, external
High-performance condenser made of refrigeration copper tube with positive-locking aluminium fins and optional condenser protection grille.
Refrigeration circuit
Hermetically sealed refrigeration circuit made of refrigeration copper tube. Vibration-damped scroll compressor(s) from the Danfoss DSH compressor series with built-in motor protection switch to protect against overload and overtemperature. Crankcase heater for compressor(s) to heat the oil sump when the unit is at a standstill and at low ambient temperatures as well as to increase the service life as standard. Additional compressor insulation to reduce noise emissions available as an option. Schrader valve accesses on the high and low pressure side enable refrigeration measurements and work without having to open the refrigeration circuit. Pressure sensors on the high and low pressure side for measuring and processing operationally relevant device parameters. Filter dryer with molecular sieve for filtering out the smallest impurities in the refrigeration circuit and drying residual moisture in the refrigerant. Sight glass with humidity indicator for monitoring the acid content of the refrigerant and displaying the aggregate state of the refrigerant upstream of the expansion valve. Preset, electronic expansion valve to increase the control quality and energy efficiency of the chiller.
Use of the innovative and climate-friendly refrigerant R452B of class A2L with a greenhouse gas potential three times lower than comparable refrigerants (comparison R410A).
Fan(s)
Aerodynamically optimised axial fan with glass fibre-reinforced plastic fins and unique aluminium support structure to minimise noise emissions and maximise efficiency. Fan design in protection class IP 54, insulation class F and 2 fan speeds as standard. Optionally available in EC or AxiTop design.
Working range
Adjustable return temperature range from +5°C to +18°C. Operating range in cooling mode from +5°C to +48°C, can be extended to -15°C to +48°C with optional winter control accessory.
Medium circuit
Medium circuit insulated vapour diffusion-tight. Hydraulic circuit can be individually configured, pumps in various pressure levels and integrated medium storage tank as buffer storage to increase the system volume optionally available, see separate tender texts. Medium connections in imperial design with external thread.
Electrics / control
Main switch accessible from the outside on the operating side of the device. Carel pLDPRO controller protected from unauthorised access and the weather by a cover. Hinged enclosure door enables access and opening of the enclosure without having to dismantle housing parts. 3 user levels enable user access to user-relevant device parameters and changes by installers at specialist level. Password-protected manufacturer level for highly sensitive parameter area at programming level. Fully wired and tested main and control circuit including terminal strip for mains supply, phase sequence relay for monitoring the rotating field, load contactors and control relays, transformer and circuit breaker for protection against overload and short-circuit currents. External start/stop contact for switching the device on and off and collective fault signalling contact for external use. Modbus interface RS485 can be retrofitted as an accessory. Fault memory including recording of date and time in the event of a fault for simplified diagnosis.

Rainwater collection pipe and central drainage via screw connections with external thread.
Eco-Design Directive
Compliance with all requirements of the Ecodesign Directive (EU) 2016/2281 (LOT 21) for chillers for comfort air conditioning in accordance with technical data (see SEER and annual space cooling efficiency ratio).
