PCE Colour booth PCE-CIC 5-LED

A colour booth enables the user to make direct visual colour comparisons on products that are to be produced or are already in production. Colour comparisons in a colour booth are therefore important for a company that aims to offer high and consistent quality in its products. The light booth supports four different types of light. The light types are predefined light types such as daylight, department stores’ light, UV light and incandescent lamps. The light booth can therefore be used to prevent metamerism before the product goes into series production, for example. The colour booth is also an important part of quality assurance. It can also be used during the production of products to check whether the colour values are still within the limits.

Metamerism in general refers to the fact that the same colours can look different under different types of light.

The internal operating hours counter of the colour booth registers the lighting times of the individual light sources and thus ensures that the light sources are not changed too early or too late. The utilisation time of the lamps in a light booth should not exceed 2000 hours. In addition to the operating hours, the switch-on processes of each light type of the light booth are also counted.
