The indoor climate meter is the ideal testing device for monitoring air quality in the workplace. Thus, this indoor climate meter allows continuous recording of the crucial air criteria, such as air temperature, humidity, CO2, PM2.5 and air pressure. The measured values enable a professional to correctly classify the indoor climate at the workplace and provide information about the air quality. The measured values are stored by the meter on an SD memory card. The memory format is XLS, so the measured data can be read directly into Excel. The measured values are shown simultaneously on the large display, so you can always see all parameters at a glance. The indoor climate meter is powered by batteries or 9 V power supply. As a special feature, this tester is equipped with an alarm function. This offers the possibility to inform the user about exceeding limit values, such as temperature, humidity or dust load. In addition to the measured values, the indoor climate meter also provides information about the current time. Thus, the user is always well informed about the indoor climate and can, if necessary, quickly initiate measures for improvement.

What measures can be taken to improve the indoor climate? If the user is alerted by the indoor climate meter that one or more measurement parameters have exceeded limit values, short-term and long-term measures can improve the indoor climate. Quick remedies include direct strong ventilation and placing water containers in the room (essentially in the heating period) to increase the humidity. Also relatively fast and very effective remedy are plants. Houseplants are a real miracle, because they act equally against many parameters that damage the indoor climate. For example, plants convert carbon dioxide (CO2) during photosynthesis, and the amount of oxygen in the workplace increases. They can also absorb formaldehyde, for example, and increase humidity (water poured on plants will evaporate).  If the indoor climate measuring device indicates a too high concentration of particulate matter at the workplace, or if, for example, the previously described measuring parameters of air humidity, air temperature, CO2 are significantly increased, then long-term measures must be initiated, which are usually also associated with high costs (intial and running costs): Installation of air conditioners, particle filters, dust collectors. 

A special tip against fine dust at the workplace (does not apply to production rooms but to office workplaces, for example): Make sure that dust is really wiped off when cleaning and not generously distributed in the room. Condition before and after the implementation of measures to improve the indoor climate If poor measured values have been determined over a longer period of time using the indoor climate measuring device and improvement measures have been implemented as a result, it also makes sense to check the effect of the change measures over a subsequent longer period of time. Although a clear improvement in the workplace should be measurable directly after the installation of filters, for example, and this must also be immediately recognizable on the basis of better measured values on the room climate measuring device, it always makes sense to also make an observation over a longer period of time in order to record all possible room climate conditions (are also subject to other influencing variables). Adjustment / Calibration PCE Instruments always sends all measuring instruments factory calibrated to the customer. However, you can also purchase an ISO calibration certificate for the room climate measuring instrument.

In case of certification and laboratory calibration the air quality measuring instrument according to DIN ISO 9000 a test report with the address data of your company will be issued, so that you can e.g. include the instruments in your in-house ISO test equipment pool and it is confirmed that the instruments are traceable to the national ”standards”. The total calibration process usually takes 3 - 5 working days, so that the normal delivery time of 1 - 2 days (delivery without ISO calibration certificate) increases to 4 - 7 working days. A regular recalibration can be performed at any time. As a rule, the customer-specific ISO management manual specifies the intervals. Since the indoor climate measuring instrument records five parameters, all five measured variables would actually have to be checked, adjusted if necessary and calibrated. As a manufacturer, however, PCE Instruments recommends partial calibrations from the point of view of cost savings. E.g. calibration certificates for rel. humidity and dust.
