The 18 V lithium-ion battery forms the heart of the eMONSTER series, and is compatible with all 18 V eMONSTER tools. Thanks to the lithium-ion technology, there is no unwanted memory effect, which means that the rechargeable battery can be charged and discharged without any loss of capacity. In addition, the rechargeable battery is characterized by a low spontaneous discharge.
The rechargeable battery has overvoltage and short-circuit protection, as well as anti-heating technology that protects it from internal overheating. This ensures a long service life for the rechargeable battery, and prevents damage. The individual cells are not arranged as a package in the housing, but are inserted individually in a tubular structure. This means the heat that is generated is to be dissipated more efficiently to the cooling fins via the surrounding material. As a result, heat can dissipate quickly from the battery which prevents a heat build-up that could hurt capacity or service life.
The intelligent system protocol of the eMONSTER product family ensures an effective and gentle rapid charging function by networking the tool, rechargeable battery and charger. By continuously monitoring these components, various protective functions such as overload protection, overvoltage or Undervoltage protection, temperature monitoring or emergency shutdown can be activated in the event of a possible fault. Defective or exhaustively discharged rechargeable batteries are detected immediately, something which significantly increases operational safety.
The current state of charge of the rechargeable battery can be read at any time via a 3-stage LED display using the test button on the rechargeable battery. This means it is always possible to check how much energy remains, allowing you to plan your work efficiently.
