Product data
Product description
The KonstruX A4 fully threaded screws maximise the load-bearing capacity of a connection thanks to the high thread pull-out resistance in both components. When using partially threaded screws, on the other hand, the significantly lower head pull-through resistance in the attachment part limits the load-bearing capacity of the connection.
Suitable for use in interior and exterior wood-to-wood connections. The areas of application for KonstruX A4 can be found outdoors on playgrounds, balconies, for sun protection in the form of a pergola and in hydraulic engineering, e.g. for jetties and sea bridges.
Advantages
- Suitable for use in service classes 1 to 3 in accordance with DIN EN 1995 - Eurocode 5 (A4 T4/CRCIII. Suitable for heavily polluted urban and industrial areas
- and > 0.25 km from the coastline.)
- Suitable for tannin-containing woods and saline atmospheres
- Rust-resistant and conditionally acid-resistant
- Good resistance in moderately aggressive, non-chlorinated environments
Material
- Austenitic stainless steel A4 1. 4401
Application range of screws in A4 stainless steel
- This steel is a stainless steel in accordance with the general building inspectorate approval Z-30.3-6. Rust-resistant and conditionally acid-resistant, it is also suitable for fastening wood containing tannins (e.g. oak) and for use in saline atmospheres
- Not suitable for use in chlorinated atmospheres, e.g. in indoor swimming pools. Not suitable for use in chlorinated atmospheres, e.g. in indoor swimming pools
- The screw is suitable for use in timber/wood connections in outdoor areas and is used in garden, façade and balcony construction
A system for all load-bearing connections in timber construction
- Application in timber engineering, carpentry, timber frame construction, hall construction, timber element construction, renovation of storey ceilings, etc.
- Highest force transmission

When using partially threaded screws, the significantly lower head pull-through resistance in the attachment part limits the load-bearing capacity of the connection.
- Time and cost-saving alternative to traditional connections or timber connectors such as joist hangers, joist hangers, etc.
- Timber has a low transverse compressive and transverse tensile strength. KonstruX fully threaded screws are inserted into the wood to reinforce it. The KonstruX ”takes on” a large part of the forces.
- Doubling increases the load-bearing capacity of ceiling beams, for example, and reduces deflection. KonstruX fully threaded screws connect the components with each other in a displacement-resistant manner.
- Non-visible connections, high fire resistance, no thermal bridges
- Predrilling to 6 mm required.
- The required edge and centre distances may be minimised for screws that are only subjected to tensile stress.
