RENNSTEIG – Company Since 1991, RENNSTEIG has operated as an independent subsidiary of the prestigious KNIPEX-Werk C. Gustav Putsch KG in Wuppertal. RENNSTEIG takes its name from the eponymous ‘Rennsteig’, one of eastern Germany’s most beautiful hill walking routes. Our company is based in the south of Thuringia, a region with a centuries-old tradition of tool manufacturing. Our company headquarters are located in Thuringia, in the district of Schmalkalden-Meiningen. The head office and one of the company‘s production facilities are located in the town of Steinbach-Hallenberg, in the districts of Viernau and Altersbach. The company was expanded in early 2024 to include a production facility in Zella-Mehlis. The link between tools for professionals and the hiking route was forged in 1959, with Rennsteig completing all production inhouse, from the idea to the final product.
