038 039 GEDORE wire rope cutters: extremely resilient 142 TL UNIVERSAL PLIERS The cutting edges of conventional wire rope cutters become blunt over time making a new wire rope cutter necessary. Responding to this, GEDORE has developed the patented 8320 JC wire rope cutter with replaceable cutting plates. The cutting plates are of powder metallurgical high-speed steel (HSS) and have a much longer service life over traditional wire rope cutters. The arched cutting edges ensure an extremely gentle shearing cut. This reliably stops any fanning out of the wire rope. The optimum cutting edge geometry results in both a minimum of effort and high cutting performances - i.e. wire ropes up to 1800 N/mm2 of a maximum 4 mm diameter, wires up to 750 N/mm2 of a maximum 6 mm diameter and a single or multi-core copper and aluminium cable of a maximum 6 mm diameter. The cutter has two integrated press profiles for Bowden cable terminal sleeves and cable end sleeves. Moreover, the screwed joint is re-adjustable and so ensures precision cutting plate guidance.
