Stainless steel SPAX are particularly suitable for outdoor applications. They are available in the version stainless steel A2 for outdoor applications that are exposed to direct weathering, and for applications in damp locations (e.g. kitchens and bathrooms). ■ Is chrome(VI)-free and therefore far more eco-friendly than conventional surface coatings in both production and use. For applications in coastal areas, we recommend the version stainless steel A4. Stainless steel is characterised by a high chrome content so that a protective layer is formed on the material surface. ■ You can therefore continue to use a screw with a yellowish appearance with higher corrosion protection and chrome(VI)-free (i.e. eco-friendly and without health concerns) even in the future Further alloying elements such as nickel, molybdenum, manganese and niobium result in an even better corrosion resistance. ■ DIN EN 1670 SPAX with optimised YELLOX surface fulfil Grade 3 ("high resistance") as per this European standard for the corrosion resistance of locks and fittings.
