Folding rules The joints of a folding rule are subjected to particular stress. That’s why we only make them using high-quality, epoxy-coated Swedish steel, which is completely weatherproof and can easily pass durability tests with 15,000 movements. Each joint is lubricated in three different places, to ensure that it runs smoothly. Folding rules Joints. Good for twisting and turning. Wooden folding rules. Only the best, naturally. Only two types of wood will do when manufacturing a SOLA wooden folding rule: Nordic glass birch, which grows very slowly in harsh climates, and therefore offers a highly elastic wood; or beech, with its hard and therefore highly abrasion-resistant wood. To ensure a long lifespan, our wooden folding rules are coated twice on all sides, corners, edges and under the joints with water-soluble varnish, and cured with UV light at the end of production. 97
