Freestanding crane with un-reinforced runway tracks Freestanding cranes are particularly useful when the roof cannot support an overhead crane. The bridge profile is usually reinforced to achieve longer spans and un-reinforced runway track profiles can be used by supporting them directly to an I beam that runs parallel above. LIG HT CRANE SYS TEM S Freestanding crane with reinforced long travel tracks By using reinforced track profiles the runway support distance can be increased, removing the need for a parallel I-Beam to support the track. This method reduces the installation time. (*) Sway bracing may be required for the ceilling support brackets that are not directly mounted (flush mounted) to the supporting structure in order to reduce the swinging effect.
