INFORMATION / TABLES Vacuum Vacuum Vacuum is indicated in relation to the absolute pressure (absolute zero). Description: - Data (minus data) given in percent (%) in range from 0 – 1 bar absolute pressure Application in the use with rough or work vacuum at Riegler Vacuum as relative value in proportion to the average atmospheric ambient pressure (approx.1000 mbar). The indicated vacuum value has a negative sign, because the atmospheric ambient pressure is taken as zero. This results that the lowest accepted value is -1 bar or 100% vacuum. Distribution of the vacuum levels Unit Rough vacuum Fine vacuum High vacuum Ultra-high vacuum mbar 10³ to 1 1 to 10-3 10-3 to 10-7 < 10-7 Solenoid valves Solenoid valves 2/2-3/2 directional media valves Types of actuation Directly actuated valve Description Design related features For a directly actuated valve the solenoid armature is connected mechanically with the valve plate and form a power unit. The magnet, which works directly on the armature, thus actuates simultaneously the sealing element attached to the bottom of the armature. Operation is not influenced by the line pressure or the flow, and the valve functions from zero up to maximum allowable rated pressure. Only small nominal diameters – low flow capacities High pressures Liquid and gaseous media in the scope of the specifications Switches without pressure differenced Use with rough vacuum Pilot operated valve This valve is equipped with a pilot operated valve and a throttle hole. It uses the line pressure for its function. When the solenoid is energised the pilot operation is opened and the pressure is built up via the valve piston or the diaphragm toward the outlet side of the valve. The pressure differenced resulting from this forces the line pressure to lift the piston or the diaphragm from the main seat and opens the valve. When the solenoid is energised the pilot operation opening is closed and the line pressure can be built up again by the nozzle via the piston or the diaphragm and provide the required force for closing the valve. Larger nominal diameters Higher pressures can be switched with relatively low solenoid powers Liquid and gaseous media in the scope of the specifications Switching function only possible with minimum pilot pressure (observe “minimum operating pressure” in the catalogue) Bei größeren Nennweiten nehmen die schaltbaren For larger nominal diameters reduce the switchable pressures (observe “maximum operating pressure” in the catalogue) Positively controlled valve With this type of actuation the advantages are combined with the principle of direct actuation. With positively controlled valves the solenoid armature and seal are mechanically connected. The opening cycle can begin without differential pressure. As this movement continues the pre-pressure supports the opening cycle via the additionally available pilot hole. The valves work from 0 bar up to the maximum allowable pressure. 930 Larger nominal diameters Switching function possible without minimum prepressure Liquid and gaseous media in the scope of the specifications For larger nominal diameters reduce the switchable pressures (observe “maximum operating pressure” in the catalogue)
