PUSH-PULL HOE WITH HILT HANDLE While Belgians like to tackle weeds in the garden with a draw hoe, the Dutch have always preferred a push-pull hoe. A hoe allows you to weed with a push-pull motion, which has several benefits. A number of male and female Flemish organic farmers have extensively tested this push-pull hoe. They used it for weeding, to bring up weeds from the subsoil, to prepare the soil and hoeing in between herbs. They share their experiences below: KAREL It took some getting used to, but after a while, it feels completely natural to use. The push-pull hoe is very comfortable to hold and I feel that it makes removing weeds easier. I also feel that I have to make less of an effort, even in rocky or hard subsoil. I would never trade in my push-pull hoe again for a draw hoe. TANJA Unlike when I use a draw hoe, my arms and back don’t hurt when I use the push-pull hoe. The longer handle means I have to make less of an effort. You can even use it with just one hand! Very user-friendly and ergonomic. WILLEM The main thing that I like about this push-pull hoe is that it doesn’t break up the soil too much. You can also use it to easily remove excess grass and weeds. But this push-pull hoe works equally well for cabbages and other larger crops. A draw hoe digs deeper and requires you to pull, whereas this hoe lets you push and pull. I also like the handle and the longer pole. ERGO 22
