Tube Clamp Connectors General Information and Overview of Types Tube clamp connectors made of aluminum or stainless steel, together with round or square tubes, can be easily and quickly assembled into functional units. The various connector clamp types can be divided into split and semi-split versions. Semi-split tube clamp connectors are always made from a single cast component. Only round bores are available, which are designed for use with precision tubes DIN 2391, DIN 2395 and DIN 2462 and construction tubes GN 990. Semi-split tube clamp connectors are installed by sliding them on from the side. Split tube clamp connectors are always made from multiple cast components. Round and square bores are available. The split design means that there are no specific requirements in terms of tube tolerance. They can be combined with DIN standard round and square tubes or with construction tubes GN 990 and can even be installed radially on existing constructions. At the screw locations, stainless steel socket cap screws DIN 912 with internal hexagon together with stainless steel hexagon nuts DIN 985 with polyamide ring reduce the slot height for clamping purposes. The socket cap screws can be replaced with adjustable hand levers GN 911 or GN 911.3 for frequent clamping without tools. The adjustable hand lever provides less clamping force than clamping with a tool due to the shorter lever. The recommended adjustable hand lever sizes are specified in the tables for each tube clamp connector series. The screw locations have hexagonal sockets on both sides so that the screw and hexagon nut can be positioned in either location.
