The piston rod is pulled into the shock absorber by a buffer spring inside the shock absorber. This means that the springs cannot be tensioned enough with most standard spring tensioners, making fitting very difficult. The special design of the shock absorber fitting tool allows the piston rod to be pulled up properly without jamming and fixed in place without damage in the end stop position using a universal clamping piece with V-shaped plastic inserts. This simple process allows repairs to be carried out by a fitter, saving both time and costs.
