Protruding (DIN 1239) Design:The shape of the cover (round or rectangular) depends on the shaft's shape. Ventilation:If there is no separate ventilation pipe, having vents in the cover prevents the water from becoming stale. Material:Either steel or stainless steel, depending on the humidity level and risk of corrosion.
