Poliflex tools General information Explanation of the code system according to EN 12413: D T Sd L0 L2 L3 ① = Mounted point outer dia. = Mounted point width = Shank dia. = Unsupported shank length = Shank length = Clamping length of shank = collet ① Sd D L0 T L3 L2 Safety notes The maximum rotational speeds for the various shank lengths and shank diameters are defined in DIN 69170 based on EN 12413. These must be adhered to in order to avoid buckling of the shank during use. Regardless of the length of the shank, the clamping length (L3) of the shank must be at least 10 mm. Each packaging unit of PFERD fine grinding points contains the rotational speed specifications for the unsupported shank length (L0) of that grinding point. Proper concentric accuracy and correct clamping of the tool drive must also be ensured. Tables with the maximum permitted rotational speeds for the entire range of Poliflex fine grinding points are available on request. The maximum permitted rotational speed calculated according to EN 12413 is determined by the following factors: ■ Shape and dimensions of the mounted point ■ Diameter of the steel shank Sd ■ Unsupported shank length L0 Wear eye protection!
