50 Years HEDI Cable reels a success story from 1975 until today HEDI has been manufacturing cable reels since 1975. Company founder Helmut Diebolder had the design patented internationally. Demand for the cable reels was very high. This is still the case today and HEDI has firmly and successfully established itself on the market. At the beginning of HEDI's history, sheet steel cable reels were the absolute standard. They were considered durable and robust for a long time. In the 1980s, the range was expanded to include cable reels with a plastic body. HEDI set a milestone with the development of all-plastic cable reels of the Generation 7 series. In 2018, the Generation 7 "Champion" cable reel was introduced to the market. The innovative design concept is well thought-out and safe. By eliminating metallic surfaces, the risk of dangerous electric shocks is greatly reduced. A unique feature of the Generation 7 cable reels is the 7° inclination of the reel body. An invention that brings many ergonomic advantages. This HEDI design concept is also protected by patent. With the introduction of the Generation 7 Companion and the Generation 7 Coworker, we are continuing the trend towards all-plastic cable reels in recent years.
