Lieferform Breitbänder, Segmentbänder Das Schleifkorn Teil 2 Siliciumcarbid Siliciumcarbid ist das härteste Schleifkorn, das für die Herstellung von Schleifmitteln verwendet wird (Härte ca. 9.8). Es entwickelt nicht eine so hohe Wärme während des Schleifvorganges. Gerne wird Siliciumcarbid auch für den Holzfeinschliff verwendet, da die Holzfaser sehr sauber abgeschliffen wird. Zu beachten ist, dass Siliciumcarbid nicht so widerstandsfähig ist und daher nicht hohe Drücke, wie ein Aluminiumoxid, vertragen kann. Bei zu hohen Drücken erfolgt ein Kornausbruch und eine verkürzte Standzeit. 20
