In der Spulenmitte ist die Magnetfeldstärke am größten, weshalb sich dort die Futteroberfläche mehr als an den Randbereichen der Spule erwärmt. Durch diesen „Hot Spot“ ergibt sich eine unterschiedliche Temperatur entlang des Futters. Dadurch weitet sich das Futter um wenige Mikrometer in der Mitte stärker nach außen. Das Futter ist somit am Hot Spot immer minimal mehr geöffnet als am Bohrungseingang. Die zylindrische Vorweite überbrückt diesen kritischen Punkt sicher bei reduziertem Energiebedarf. Diese materialschonende Erwärmung bewirkt eine längere Lebenszeit der Schrumpffutter. 8 ThermoGrip® The picture above shows the cross section of an inductively heated shrink chuck. The surface of the chuck mainly heats the Hot Spot area very quickly. This area is situated in the middle of the coil spindle. Since the temperature is always higher on the surface of the chuck than in the inner part, the chuck opens by micrometres – similar to a banana – slightly outwards. Because of this, the chuck is always slightly more open at the Hot Spot than at the boring entry. The cylindrical counterbore bypasses this critical area securely at reduced energy requirement. Due to this low wear heating process, a longer tool life of the shrink chucks is guaranteed.
