Ein dämpfender Zylinder sorgt in Verbindung mit einer Feder dafür, dass sich die Schließzeit der Dichtung auf etwa 6 bis 8 Sekunden verlängert, so dass in dieser Zeit die Luft verdrängt werden kann und die Tür somit für Schleusensituationen geeignet ist. Beim Öffnen fährt die Dichtung schnell wieder hoch, ohne unnötiges Schleifen auf dem Boden.
