Carbide Hole Saws Flat Cut Set Metric The application range of carbide hole saws differs from HSS bi-metal hole saws. ALFRA carbide-tipped hole saws can be used to economically process stainless steel up to 2 mm (1/16“), unalloyed steels up to 4 mm (3/16”), plastics, PVC, aluminum, zinc, plaster and lightweight panels, among others. For use with hand and pillar drills. No automatic feed for pillar drills.
For thicker materials: cut 2 - 3 mm (1/16“ - 7/64”) per operation, then remove chips.
A high-quality cutting oil should be used when sawing metals. Exception: Do not use cutting oil for cast iron and use petroleum instead of oil for aluminum.
Please note: Always wear safety goggles!
Another special feature:
From Ø 15.2 mm (3/16“) to 30.0 mm (1-1/8”), the hole saw is made from one piece.
From Ø 31.0 mm (1-3/16”), we use specially hardened holders to absorb the torsional forces during heavy use and thus prevent premature shearing of the shank.
