But the company’s history began much earlier than this: In 1857, Johann Hermann Picard founded a small blacksmith’s shop in Wuppertal, Germany – still the company’s headquarters today. Even though the very latest technology has long since found its way into the production of our hammers, the driving ambition behind each and every one of our 700 or so different products is to deliver the best crafted quality we possibly can for our demanding customers – put simply, to make crafted tools for craftsmen. 4
