SEALING MATERIAL "OHA-PRESS" Advice for storage Delivery format Cut-outs: Seals: Strengthen: see page 12.3 Screw and flange gaskets according to DIN 2631, 2632, DIN EN 1514-1 etc. 1,8 - 5,0 mm Installation instructions Correct installation is the prerequisite for the reliable functioning of a seal. Sealing surfaces and screws appropriate must be selected according to the minimum required surface pressure and the maximum permissible surface pressure. Maximum storage period: 2 to 3 years under the following conditions: • Temperature < + 20° C • Relative humidity 30% to 60% • No direct sunlight • No artificial light with high UV content • No ozone • Tension-free mounting Large deviations shorten the permissible storage time. In the case of critical (e.g. poisonous) gases, do not exceed the storage period of one year. If necessary, store gaskets or sealing plates in special packaging (air- and light-protected). Please note: • Before installing a new gasket, remove the impurities and residues of the old gaskets from the flange surfaces. • Always install seals made of high quality material. A repeated installation of the old (already installed) seal is not recommended, because the seal has already lost part of its springback. • When using cut-out or stamped gaskets, check that the screw holes and edges are smooth and without bulges. These impurities can cause an uneven distribution of the surface pressure or a leakage. • When selecting the gasket, take into account that the gasket is thin but thick enough to compensate for the uneven flange surface and uneven screw force during tightening. • Place seals centrical; do not apply aids (greases, release agents or sealing compounds) to seals or sealing points. • Do not use corroded screws, nuts or washers; calculated and actual surface pressure must be the same, so apply lubricants and nuts. • Install the second sealing point parallel to the plane and tighten the screws by hand. The screws must be greased beforehand. • When using the torque wrench, make sure it is calibrated. • If the screws are large and the piping is extremely loaded, we suggest the use of a hydraulic torque wrench. • For asbestos-free sealing materials, the screws should not be re-tightened during operation. The required torque must be achieved during installation. A few hours after the last tightening of the screw nuts check the torque! Illustrations, dimensions and descriptions are not binding.
